OBITUARY
WILLIAM HENRY LANGDON
The death of William Henry Langdon occurred on Friday, 6th September, at Angora Park, Muttaburra. Mr. Langdon was a very well-known and well-liked identity of the Muttaburra and Aramac districts.
He was born at Geelong (Vic.) on 26th February, 1863, and came out to Muttaburra in the year 1884. His first job was at Mt. Cornish where he finished up as cattle overseer. Then with Tozer and Cooper, Mr. Langdon took over Weewondilla, and Langdon and Tozer opened a butcher’s shop in Muttaburra. After a time they sold Weewondilla and Mr. Langdon started out on his own, buying Barcoora. After the drought in 1902 he sold the place and came back to Muttaburra to his business in the butcher shop, and bought Adelong in the Aramac district, where he has since resided.
He leaves a family of five – Bill who has successfully carried on the shop for his father for a number of years and Jim, Toby, Connie and Edie.
