Comment | Died from Cardiac failure The Longreach Leader — Saturday 10 August 1935 Mrs. Dare, who was born in County Clare, Ireland, in 1861, accompanied her parents to Australia in the following year and went to reside at Toowoomba. She was married to Sergeant P. Fahey, of the Mounted Police, at Rockhampton on 22nd April, 1887, and later went to Muttaburra with her husband where she had remained ever since. After the death of her husband in 1901 deceased took over the licence of the Landsborough Hotel which she man- aged until it was destroyed by fire in 1917. She then secured the Australian Hotel which she managed until a few years ago. Owing to indifferent health, she handed the control to her daughter, Miss H. M. (Queenie) Fahey. She married Mr. J. Dare In 1907 and is survived by her husband and two children, Mrs. W. J. Spence (Culloden) and Miss H. M. (Queenie) Fahey (Muttaburra) and five grand- children. The funeral took place at 5 o’clock that afternoon, the Rev. Father Hayes (Barcaldine) officiating at a service at St. John’s Church and later at the graveside. [Source: Obituary. (1935, August 10).
