Peggy was born 10 months later in a private hospital in Brisbane. It was a difficult birth but Kitty was finally allowed home 3 weeks later. As Bill and Kitty were packing to leave, she took a bad turn and died suddenly from a blood clot.
Peggy was taken back to Muttaburra and raised by her Aunty Ag & Nell until 2 years old, then Bill took her when he remarried.
